CAMP PROFILE

Etched into the foothills of North Carolina's Blue Ridge by a defining mountain stream, Johns River Valley Camp hosts an outdoor ministry site of the Southern Conference (United Church of Christ).

 CAMP NEWS ... April 2008

Summer features seven weeks of residential one week camp sessions. Three distinct age defined programs serve campers in rising grades 3-12. Spring Work Day at JRVC enabled the accomplishment of numerous projects. Fourteen congregations responded. The camp Board wishes to express thanks to all. Persons making up the 75 person work force came from the following congregations: High Country (Boone); St. John's New Mission (Burlington); Mt. Zion (China Grove); Grace (Elon); Zion (Lenoir); Hedrick's Grove (Lexington); St. Matthew's (Maiden); Grace (Newton); Umstead Park (Raleigh); Grace Lower Stone (Rockwell); First (Salisbury); Calvary (Thomasville); Zion (Thomasville); Bethany (Winston-Salem). Retreats can be accommodated in the recently constructed Boger Site. Forty beds offer adult friendly facilities in the comfort of a year 'round facility. ... more
