ABOUT US

Our Mission
Johns River Valley Camp is dedicated to creating transformative experiences in a stunning natural setting. Here, we nurture deep connections to God, inspire personal growth, and cultivate strong, supportive community.

About Us
Since 1936, Johns River Valley Camp (JRVC) and Retreat Center has welcomed children, youth, adults, families, church groups, and organizations year-round. As the outdoor ministry site of the Southern Conference United Church of Christ, JRVC blends faith, fellowship, and the beauty of creation into every program.

A Place Like No Other
Nestled in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, JRVC rests beside a mountain stream and offers access to waterfalls, hiking trails, an archery course, river activities, interactive group courses, a basketball court, and so much more.

Summer at JRVC
Each summer, we offer two vibrant camp experiences:

  • Classic Summer Camp – A time-honored tradition where campers enjoy swimming, hiking, archery, crafts, rock climbing, games, vespers, campfires, and endless opportunities for fun and growth.

  • Mission Camp – A unique program where children, youth, and adults work side by side to address poverty and environmental challenges. Together, participants deepen their connection to God, creation, and one another.

Retreats & Year-Round Programs
Beyond the summer, JRVC is a gathering place for reflection, visioning, and community-building. We host retreats throughout the year and can help design custom events for groups of all sizes.

Facilities & Hospitality
Our lodging options range from rustic cabins to modern dorm-style accommodations. Meals are lovingly prepared in our dining hall by dedicated chefs. Retreat meeting spaces are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seating, wireless internet, and projectors—so your group can focus fully on connection and renewal.

In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he has made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
